Marta's story

Marta is a member of the communal bank "Santa Barbara," in the district and province of Yunguyo, in the department of Puno. She is 47 years old, married, and has 3 children, 2 of whom are independent. Marta has an elementary school education.

Marta has a business selling groceries. Her first loan was for the sum of 300 Peruvian soles, which she invested in her business.

She is requesting a new loan in the amount of 3,000 Peruvian soles to invest in the purchase of 5 sacks of rice, sugar, flour, noodles, eggs and cooking oil. Her husband works with her in the business.

She tells us that she sells her merchandise in the town of Juliaca.

Her dream is to continue with her business and increase her income.

What she likes most about her communal bank is that the members are punctual with their payments, and she also likes the training.
