Luvina Clementina's story

Luvina is a member of the 'Luz y Vida' (Light and Life) community bank. She lives in Aguacate community, in the city of Cuenca. The people here are very kind and have very warm hearts. They maintain the culture and traditions of their parents and work in farming and livestock raising. They also work in different activities in the city.

Luvina is 50 years old, married, and has conceived 11 children. One of her children is married and independent, one works and helps with the household finances, six of her children work, contribute financially to the household and attend school in the evenings, and her three youngest children are attending school in the city. Luvina's husband farms and raises livestock. They own their own home.

Luvina is a traveling saleswoman. She sells yoghurt, cheese and several other products such as potatoes or whatever is in season. She has been in this business for 40 years. At home she raises cattle, pigs and farmyard birds.

Luvina has been a member of her community bank for five years and she will invest her new loan in buying cheese, yoghurt, potatoes, etc. for her business. Her goal is to learn to drive and buy a vehicle.
