For 4 years now, Carlos has been peddling tickets for a lottery named ‘raspaditas’ and other lotteries in the most frequented streets of Managua, markets, banks and malls. He begins selling at 7:00 a.m. and travels through the streets all day in search of people who like to try their luck and that are fans of the lotteries named ‘raspaditas’ and ‘chalupa’. The income generated by this activity is very varied. This line of work is very hard, since he runs many risks such as being mugged, and he does not have a set locale where he can sell his product. He does all this due to having 2 small children to maintain and support. This is his only option for work at the moment. However, his hindrance is his inability to purchase all the lottery numbers and offer variety to his clients. This is why he requests a loan to buy lottery tickets ending in the numbers zero through nine and not pass up customers or sales, and to increase his income which is what he maintains his family with.
