A loan of $750 helped to buy one wood-cutting machine in order to be able to continue working with her business and one measuring tool so that her strips of wood will be of better quality upon completion.

Annie's story

Annie, who is 38 years old, is a brave woman and a fighter. She is the mother of 2 children, ages 17 and 8, who are the fruit of her relationship with her partner. She has her own house where she shares every day in the joy of raising her children and working a lot to give them the best. Besides Annie and her family, there is also a youth who helps them with daily tasks. Annie's work consists of milling wood, cut legally, and then working toward regulatory reforestation as the laws demand in the state.

She has a small mill where strips of wood are prepared. Her business is in her mother's house and she has already worked for 10 continuous years in this field. She receives the help of seven employees for whom she has always been on time with their pay. What she likes from her work is that there is always movement and they have daily sales from their products, since she is the supplier for some construction companies in the city.

Things are going very well and she hopes to be able to grow her business. She wishes to buy more wood-cutting machines. This will be the second loan with Kiva partner MFP, and therefore she hopes for a small loan in order to accomplish her objectives and acquire these machines. In addition, she is committed to paying off her loan in a punctual manner, like she did with the previous loan. Also, she is very content with her group since they are very responsible and supportive people. With the requested amount, she will buy one more wood-cutting machine in order to be able to continue working with her business and likewise she will buy one measuring tool so that her strips of wood have better quality upon completion.
