A loan of $750 helped buy sugar, rice and beverages.

Esther's story

Esther is a member of the Prosperity Communal Bank; she is 60 years old, married and a mother to 3 children. She was in Finca (Kiva's field partner) for 15 years and for health reasons she retired and 6 months ago she reincorporated herself as a member.

Esther has a small grocery store and with loans she was able to pay her debts and for some time had many problems but was able to overcome them and get ahead. Esther enjoys her communal bank because it has taught her to save, manage her business and above all to not over indebt herself.

The loan that she is asking for will be used to buy groceries like sugar, rice and beverages.

Esther’s goal is to keep her business growing and to have her children become professionals.
