Maria Lucinda

A loan of $325 helped to buy manure and fertilizer.

Maria Lucinda's story

María Lucinda is 53 years old and has three children who are 18, 22 and 25 years old. She lives in a village in Rosario Comayagua. Her husband's a farmer.

Lucinda works alongside her husband. For the last 30 years she's been farming basic grains like corn, beans and coffee. She has a manzana [Central American unit of land measurement] of farmland in production. She sells her crops in the local marketplace and has a customer that comes directly to her house to buy.

This is the first loan she's requested and will use it to buy manure and fertilizer to care for her crops and obtain a better harvest. With her profits she wants to finish building her house and get some other things she needs.
