Gregoria's story

Gregoria belongs to the “Tesoritos del Manu” communal bank, which meets once a month in the town of Salvación, in Manú province, in Madre de Dios department. Gregoria, 57, is in a common-law relationship, and has five children. She was born in the city of Puno, and has been living in the town of Salvación for 40 years, where she makes her living.

Gregoria's main livelihood is selling ice cream on the street. She has been in this business for several years now, and it's going well, thanks to the effort she puts into her work. On this occasion, Gregoria needs the loan to buy ingredients such as sugar, fruit, and other things.
