A loan of $2,100 helped a member to buy more charcoal, kanga, fruits and vegetables.


Mamba Group's story

Mariam is in her early 30s and single with two children who are still going to school. She has several businesses. She has been running charcoal, fruit and vegetable businesses and recently started selling kanga. She works from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be her 5th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to increase the charcoal business, start selling kanga and take care of her children. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She wants a loan to buy more charcoal, kanga, fruits and vegetables. Her dream is to one day be able to build her own house. She will share this loan with her loan group, "Mamba," which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
