A loan of $1,000 helped to buy construction materials to continue work on her home (cement, sand, stone, iron, etc.).

Antonieta's story

Antonieta was born in the district of Marracuene in the province of Maputo in southern Mozambique. She is a single mother of 3 children, 2 of whom go to school, and 1 is disabled. She finished studying through her second year at the teaching college and didn't continue due to the lack of time. She lives in her own home with her family and also supports her mother, who lives with her.

She left Marracuene for the district of Boane because of a military assignment. She has been a teacher for more than 25 years and teaches at the EPC in Boane. She makes 3,710 meticals a month, which she puts towards her home's expenses. She also saves some in her bank account at the BIM bank.

She has never had a loan with another bank. She became familiar with Hluvuku through a friend who is also a customer of our institution. This is her third loan with Hluvuku in the amount of 26,000 meticals, which she will use to buy construction materials to continue working on her home (cement, sand, stone, iron, etc.). Her first 2 loans were for 12,500 meticals each, and she also put these towards the work on her home.

She promises to make her payments on time, and in the future, she plans to finish the construction on her home and to build a wall, for which she is planning on requesting more loans from Hluvuku.
