Enia's story

Enia was born in the District of Manhiça, Province of Maputo, south of Mozambique, is married and the mother of 2 children who both attend School. She completed 9th grade and didn’t continue her education due to a lack of financial means. She lives in her own home with her family and supports 2 step-children who live with her. She left Manhiça for the District of Boane when she joined her husband and has been a trader for more than 11 years. She sells various products and has an income of around 3,000.00 meticals (MZN) which she spends on household expenditure and saves in her bank account (BIM). Enia has never had loans from other banks and came to know Hluvuku through a family member who is also a client of this institution. This is her first loan with Hluvuku for the amount of 20,000.00 MZN with which she intends to buy products (rice, peanuts, salt, oil and others) to increase her merchandise. She commits to paying off the loan and in future intends to build a commercial establishment to improve her business. As such, she intends to solicit further loans from Hluvuku.
