Julieta's story

Julieta was born in Maputo City, Maputo Province in southern Mozambique. She is married and has five children; all the children still attend school. Julieta finished fifth grade but did not continue because her parents had financial problems. She lives in her own house with her family and supports her parents, who live with her.

She has been a businesswoman for more than ten years, and she sells staple goods. Julieta earns around 5,000 meticais, which she uses for household expenses. She also saves some in her bank account (at BIM).

She has never had loans from other banks, and she learned about Hluvuku through a friend who is also a customer of this institution. This is Julieta's first Hluvuku loan. She is asking for 26,000 meticais to buy products (oil, flour, rice, broth, soft drink and other products) to increase her inventory.

She promises to make her payments promptly, and in the future she intends to raise chickens for meat to increase her income. To do this, she intends to ask Hluvuku for more loans.
