A loan of $3,725 helped a member increase her capital to buy many new clothes for women and children as well as shoes to resell and make great profits.

Ishaka Group's story

Anitha is a 34-year-old retail merchant who lives in the Ngagara district of the Municipality of Bujumbura. She has been selling new clothing for children and women, and also selling shoes for the past five years. She started this business when she was running a restaurant.

She went to school up to grade 9. She is married to Eddie and all four of their children attend school.

The Kiva credit loan of 340,000 Burundi francs that was granted enables her to increase her capital. She will then buy many new clothes for women and children as well as shoes for resale, and make great profits.

She is a member of the "Ishaka" community group.
