Charles is a small-scale retailer of 41 who lives in the district called "Quartier Kinama de la Mairie" in Bujumbura. he has been selling potatoes for six years. He began this business after having completed the 10th grade of secondary school. He is married to Joselyne and they have six children; five of them are enrolled in school.

The Kiva loan of 300,000 Burundi francs that he is receiving will permit him to grow his working capital so as to buy a lot of potatoes. He buys them from markets in the interior of the country and resells them, making a good profit.

He is a member of the community group « Ntumpemukire».
