A loan of $300 helped to buy more plantains to sell.

Natividad's story

Natividad is 51 years old and a very hard-working, happy, and sociable woman. She is separated from her husband and lives in the company of her 4 children in her own house.

Natividad sells plantains, a fruit which she buys from merchant wholesalers who come from the city of Pucallpa. Sometimes she herself makes the journey to bring her products home and then sells them at her small post, located in her district municipal market.

Natividad has done this for 4 years and she is grateful that her children have always helped her with her work. What she likes about this activity is being able to feel productive and count on sufficient income to satisfy her children's basic necessities. She finds the business profitable, since plantains are massively consumed in this part of the region.

This will be Natividad's 2nd loan through MFP, and she feels very good and comfortable with the group she belongs to, since they demonstrate much solidarity. With the money she requests, Natividad will buy a larger quantity of plantains, hoping thus to count on greater earnings.
