A loan of $1,125 helped to purchase sacks of soybeans and firewood.

Cornelis's story

Cornelis, 32 years old, is married. He has two children: Veby, 8 and Yacob, 7, and both are attending elementary school. As the breadwinner Cornelis works hard to meet his family's daily needs and pay the education fees of his children.

Cornelis runs a home business producing “tempeh” (fermented soybean cake). He used to work in a tempeh factory for two years. Equipped with skills learnt from his previous job, Cornelis initiated his own business.

In running the business, Cornelis is assisted by his wife. In a day he is able to ferment up to 100 kg of soybean. The fermentation would take about two days before the tempeh can be sold.

Cornelis is requesting a loan from TLM amounting to IDR 10,000,000 to purchase sacks of soybean and firewood to produce more tempeh. He is sure that the loan will support him in improving the business.
