A loan of $225 helped to buy fabrics and thread.

Lita's story

Lita is 36 years old and a cheerful, determined, and enterprising woman. She is separated from her husband, so she lives with her parents in their home along with her sister and her three young children. Lita is a seamstress and learned how to sew by watching her friends. She decided to establish her business two years ago. Lita currently receives many orders for her work and has been able to attract many customers. Her oldest daughter helps her and is learning the trade, which makes her proud. What Lita enjoys most about her work is that it has enabled her to earn income by which she can pay for her own household expenses and provide a better quality of life for her children. Even though she has her daughter to help her, Lita has not been able to cope with the large amount of work. As a result, she has had to work late so that she can finish orders in time to be delivered on the dates requested by her customers. Her wishes are to expand her business, install more sewing machines, and hire workers.

This will be her first loan with MFP. Lita is pleased to have operating capital from the organization so that she can deliver her outstanding orders. The money she requested will be invested in the purchase of fabrics and thread for sewing.
