A loan of $750 helped to buy more meat, chorizo and cheese.

Alejandrina's story

Alejandrina is 51 years old and married to Fortunato. The couple have four children who are all married and have their own families.

Alejandrina has been selling beef and cheese for four years. She says that she started this small business as she wanted a way to support her husband with their household expenses and improve their financial situation a little so that they could enjoy a very good quality of life. She invested the loan that she received in buying more meat, chorizo and cheese so that she could have more stock available.

Alejandrina is convinced that she will be able to fulfill one of her dreams which is to grow her business much further. She would like to build premises in which to set up her butcher's shop so that she can house more stock and a wider range of products. This will increase and improve her income.

Aleja (as she is better known in her community) says that she is very grateful to all Kiva lenders for the great support that they are giving her but, above all, for the trust they are placing in her. With this help, she has managed to improve her business and her family's life.
