A loan of $3,825 helped a member to buy fish and finish building her house.

Forkland Group's story

Anna, who is in her early 40s, is married with two children who are still in school. For the past three years, she has been a fish monger and she works from 4 in the morning through 10 at night to make a fair monthly profit. She is a member of the loan group “Forkland,” which is comprised of 16 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.

Anna is requesting her fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania to increase her fish stock and finish up her small house. She used her previous loans to increase her fish stock and to start building a three-room house. Anna has successfully repaid her previous loans. Her dream is to one day own a good butcher shop and also to supply fish to hotels.
