Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Amivi Mawuena's story

Amivi is a 34-year-old woman. She is married to a land surveyor. She has 3 children, two of whom attend school. The oldest is 10 years old and the youngest is 3 months old.

Amivi has been selling things since 2006. She buys and resells general food products, such as sugar, soap, milk, and other things to people at her house.

Amivi requested her first loan from WAGES in order to buy and sell general food products. She wants to reinvest her supplementary earnings back into her business.

In the coming years, Amivi would like to open a boutique. She says that with her earnings, she plans to contribute to the needs of her family.
