A loan of $375 helped to buy casseroles, earthenware pots and jars, comal pans.

Tomasa's story

Mrs. Tomasa, 55, is married to Sergio and they have seven children, of whom only Alejandro, Martín and Analili are in school in first, second and third year of high school. The rest are married. She has a pottery business which she started over 34 years ago.

She began her business because she wanted to improve her family's lifestyle and gain economic stability. She also wanted to begin saving for her children's higher education. She plans to use the loan to buy casseroles, earthenware pots and jars, comal pans and firewood so her business will be better stocked.

One of Tomasa's goals is to grow her business so she can open a craft shop in an effort to increase sales and improve her income.

She is very grateful to FRAC and the Kiva lenders for this helpful support. Thanks to this support her business and family life have changed greatly.
