Kenanga Cwg Group
In this Group: Ida, Ripati, Pantes, Muntamah
Ida is 37 years old and married with one child. Her child is 10 years old and is currently attending elementary school. She has been selling mobile phone minutes to customers for the past year from her house.  The income enables her to supplement her husband's income as an employee at Dunkin' Donuts.  It is helpful because his income not only supports his family but also must be used to pay for his parents' living expenses.

Her business is growing because many people now know that they can buy mobile phone credits from her.  But now she needs a loan to buy more mobile phone credits to sell.  Her younger sibling is also getting married so she wants to help them. For her business, she eventually wants to have a store front to sell mobile phone minutes from.  For her family, she would like to have a house someday and have her child attend university.

Some of the other group members will use their loans for their businesses which include selling blocks of ice and washing clothing.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
