Gloria Libina's story

Gloria Libina, 54, is married and has a son. She lives with her husband and 18-year-old son in Chillanes Canton, Bolívar Province.

The “San José” communal bank consists of 21 members, both men and women, and is located in San José del Tambo Parish sixty minutes from the office. This communal bank is dedicated to short cycle corn, banana and cocoa bean farming.

Gloria is a corn, banana and cocoa bean farmer. Her purchases and sales take place in San José del Tambo Parish. She’s asking for a loan to buy seeds and farm supplies like urea, Matamonte [herbicide], fertilizer and weed killer to maintain her crops in good condition.

The loan will be of great help for her because she’ll be able to improve her quality of life and her product. The challenges she faces are very frequent: competition and pests. Her dream is to manage to buy more land to plant more. In her free time she enjoys cooking and enjoying the carnival festivities.
