A loan of $750 helped to purchase more calves.

Helder's story

Helder, who is 53 years old, is an enterprising and hard-working man. He lives in the company of his partner and their three children in their own home. His business is to gather up heads of cattle, which he purchases straight from the producers, and then sell them outside his town at a better price. Likewise, he raises calves himself. He has been in this business for fifteen years. His wife has supported him by planting and harvesting grass, which is his animals' main fodder. What he likes about his business is that it allows him enough income to cover his personal expenses as well as the household expenses and his children's education. Now his plan is to increase his number of livestock. This will be his 21st loan with MFP; he is the longest standing member of his communal bank. He feels that all the members of his communal bank are responsible people who punctually repay their loans. With loan he has received, Helder will purchase more calves.
