A loan of $575 helped to buy more animals, feed and to build a new corral.

Santos's story

Santos, 47, is a mother living with her daughter and granddaughter in her own house which only has electricity and is located in the rural part of Tambogrande District that belongs to Piura Department, a zone noted for farming, animal husbandry and crafts making.

For several years now Santos has been raising pigs and barnyard fowl to sell. Her corral is in her back yard. She feeds them nutritionally balanced feed and natural grasses. Once they reach optimal development she can sell them to her customers and with income obtained is able to cover household expenses.

She has asked Edpyme Alternativa for a 1500 new sol loan to buy more animals of other species, to buy feed and to build a new corral for the new animals. Once she fattens them up she will sell them in the local markets to obtain more customers and thus earn higher income to provide her family with a better quality of life. Santos is a responsible, hardworking person who only wants her daughter and granddaughter to have the necessary comforts and that they always stay together to get ahead.
