A loan of $400 helped to buy rope and silk thread for making hammocks.

Ana Julia's story

Ana is 23 years old and a single mother of two children. She learned from her parents how to make hammocks when she was six years old. This activity is now the source of income for her family. She buys the materials that she needs once a week. It takes a five-minute walk to get to the place that sells rope and silk thread.

Ana is requesting a loan from Fundación Campo in order to buy two “quintales” (1 quintal = 46 kg) of rope for making the cords of the hammock and 24 rolls of silk thread for making the finest hammocks. With this loan, she will buy suitable materials on time for the type of hammocks she is making. There is great demand for the finest hammocks, so this will enable her to satisfy her customers and prevent them from buying elsewhere. These hammocks will generate more income. Ana sells based on the orders from her customers.

She has a piece of land, so her dream is to build a house of her own so that her children can have a decent place to live. Ana also provides for their education, so she continues to strive day after day.
