Luisa's story

She was born in the district of Boane, province of Maputo, southern Mozambique. She is married and has four children, all of which attend school. She completed 10th grade and didn't continue for lack of financial conditions. She lives with her family in a house she owns and does not support anyone else. She has been in retail for over five years. She sells various kinds of goods and earns an income of about 7.000mt a month. She uses it to pay for home expenses and saves part of it in her bank account. She has had loans in other banks and finished repaying without difficulties. She first heard of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of this institution. This is her first loan with Hluvuku. It is for 20.000mt, which she intends to use to purchase various goods (juice, rice, oil, fish, potatoes, etc.) in order to increase the amount of her merchandise. She is committed to repaying according to the schedule. In the future she intends to purchase a car to bolster the sales of her merchandise. For that purpose she plans to request more loans from Hluvuku.
