Dabiétou's story

Dabiétou is 28, married to a technician, and the mother of two children, of whom one is enrolled in school. The older child is five and the younger, one year old.

Dabiétou has been working at small-scale retailing since 2010. She has been buying and selling grocery products such as sugar, milk, soap, detergent, etc., and cosmetic products in her shop to all comers. She stocks up on merchandise from wholesalers in Lomé and works alone.

Dabiétou has requested her first loan from WAGES to buy grocery products for resale. She intends to put aside savings to develop her business.

In the coming years, Dabiétou would like to open up other sales points. She says that with the profit, she intends to contribute to covering the needs of her family.
