A loan of $300 helped to buy five bags of detergent in different sizes.

Irene Edilberta's story

Irene is a member of the Aymaras Juli II Communal Bank in the Juli District of Chucuito Province in the department of Puno. She is 38 years old and lives with her partner and two children. She has a secondary education.

She has worked with Manuela Ramos for over three years now. Her first loan was for 200 nuevos soles, which she invested in selling medicinal herbs and embroidery.

With this new loan of 800 nuevos soles, she will buy five bags of detergent in different sizes. She says that each bag costs 120 nuevos soles. Her partner has his own independent work.

She would like to continue with her business and improve her earnings.

What she likes most about her communal bank is the punctuality, responsibility, and the interaction with other members.
