Primitiva's story

Primitiva is a member of the “Aymaras Juli II” communal bank in Juli District, Chucuito Province and Puno Department. She’s 35 years old, has a spouse and two children. She did not complete secondary school.

She’s worked with the Manuela Ramos Movement for two cycles. Her first loan was for 500 soles that she used to buy snacks.

She will use this new, 500 new sol, loan to buy cookies, soft-drinks, chocolates and lollipops. She sells these products at a school and in front of a hospital as a street vendor. Her husband works in construction. She wants to have a large hardware store and a grocery store.

What she enjoys the most about her communal bank is sharing with her fellow members and the business talks. In the photo she appears with her youngest daughter.
