A loan of $1,825 helped to purchase two milk cows.

Tina's story

Tina is from the village of Kindzati, Kartli Region, East Georgia. She is 65 years old and lives with her family: her 44-year-old son, her daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren who are 16, 22, and 23. The main source of the income for Tina’s family is agriculture. They have two milk cows and Tina produces cheese that she sells to local dairy retailers. Along with the dairy farm, the family owns 4.5 hectares of land where they grow wheat, maize, beans, garlic, and onions. The family sells their harvested products locally. Tina also runs a small grocery store in the village and her granddaughter works there as a salesperson. Tina is requesting a loan to purchase two milk cows. This will enable her to produce and sell 100% more cheese and will significantly increase the income of the family. Also, small part of her loan (up to 20%) will be used for purchasing merchandise for the family grocery store to expand the offerings and increase sales. Tina plans to use her increased profit to purchase necessary household goods to improve the living conditions of her family.
