Luz Marina's story

Luz Marina is a member of the “Santa Rosa de Lima” communal bank located in Juli District, Chucuito Province and Puno Department. She’s 38 years old and has a spouse and three children. She finished secondary school. Her husband’s a policeman.

She’s worked with the Manuela Ramos Movement for three years. Her first loan was for 500 new soles that she used in her crafts business and to buy sheep. She’s also a farmer and personally runs a telephone call service center.

She will use her new, 2300 new sol, loan to fix up her call center, service the phones and to buy telephone call cards; another part of the money will be used for home improvements.

She’d like to open an Internet access service. What she likes about her communal bank is sharing and the joyful time she has with her fellow members.
