A loan of $575 helped to buy merchandise for her food-sales business.

Rocio Antonia's story

Rocio, 29, is a member of the Santa Rosa de Lima community bank in Juli, a district in the Peruvian "departamento" of Puno. She is married and has one son. Rocio has worked with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for eleven years. She used her first loan for S/.300.00 new soles to support her food-sales business. She is applying for a S/.1500.00 new soles loan now that she will use to buy supplies like rice, sugar, pasta and potatoes, as well as the other ingredients that she needs to make the meals she sells. Rocio's husband helps her with the business. Rocio would like to have her own restaurant one day and own a house of her own. What she most likes about the community bank is that it provides timely loans with reasonable conditions.
