A loan of $1,125 helped to buy fabric, yarn and a rustic sewing machine.

Jhanet's story

Jhanet, 20, is a responsible young lady who lives with her grandparents, Pedro and Victoria, and her uncles, whom she loves very much. They live in their own house in the Chamiseria annex. Her main goal is to study forest engineering at the state university, which she knows will be a long haul because she does not have the help of her parents. With this in mind she works tirelessly and saves all she can. Her business is making top quality aprons, which she does very carefully. She says she can make two aprons a day which she sells for 130 PEN, averaging an income of 70 PEN per unit. "Profits vary, depending on the quality of the fabric and the style I make.", she says. Now she plans to buy an industrial machine to put in her workshop so she can produce more goods with a better finish. She belongs to the communal bank "Santa Clara de Asís" and this is her third loan through MFP. She is counting on your support, so she can strive to reach her goals, and is committed to paying back the loan on time. She enjoys being a part of the communal bank because all of the members are responsible and supportive. Jhanet plans to use the loan to buy fabric, yarn and a rustic sewing machine for her business.
