A loan of $750 helped to buy hens and guinea pigs.

Rosa's story

Rosa, 49, is an admirable woman who lost her husband four years ago. They had three children, Luis, Estefania and Andrés, who she takes care of in her mother's house located in the San Pedro de Saño annex. She faces her difficulties with optimism even though she is sad about losing her partner. Every day she thanks God for her business selling guinea pigs and hens, which provides her with ample earnings because of her fixed customers. They seek her out constantly at the wholesale market where she has her stall. Around the holidays she sells meat, "making a good profit". Although she receives a widow's pension, it is not enough, so she continues to work since her children are still young and in school. She plans to increase the number of animals and expand the farm for better quality and to increase earnings. She belongs to the communal bank "San Pedro" and this is her 15th loan through MFP. She looks forward to your help so she can continue striving to reach her goals, and is committed to paying back the loan on time. Rosa enjoys being part of the communal bank because all the members are reliable and supportive. She plans to use the loan to buy hens and guinea pigs, as well as balanced feed for the animals.
