Camilo Lorenzo's story

Camilo Lorenzo, 41, is married and has three children who are 22, 10 and 8 years old. He lives with his wife and children in Ventanas Canton, Los Ríos Province.

The “Dulce Sentimiento” communal bank is located in Recinto Caimito II, Puerto Pechiche Parish belonging to Pueblo Viejo Canton. This communal bank’s members are short cycle corn, rice and pigeon pea farmers.

Camilo is a corn, rice and pigeon pea farmer. His purchases and his sales take place in Ventanas Canton. He’s asking for a loan to buy seeds and farming supplies like urea, Matamonte [herbicide], fertilizer and weed killer to maintain his crops in good condition. The loan will be very useful because he’ll be able to acquire the supplies.

The challenges he faces are very frequent: competition, pests and bad weather. His dream is to be able to make the effort to save up money to provide his family with a good economic stability. In his free time he likes to work even harder.
