A loan of $750 helped to buy sacks of manure.

Marciano's story

Marciano, 42, is a widower and has two children. They live together in his own house located in the community of José Olaya, Pangoa. Marciano is a man with a clear vision. Since starting in agriculture to date he’s been growing and selling cocoa beans and his profit margin has been increasing due to the quality of his product and even more so because of his competitive prices. In order to have quality products his children help him work but when it’s harvest time he has to hire day laborers to help him pick the beans which is then sold in his local market. For the future, he hopes to have his own grocery store to earn higher income and at the same time provide his children with a stable quality of life. This will be his first MFP loan and Marciano commits to make all his installment payments punctually. Marciano will use the 2000 new soles to buy manure to fertilize his field.
