A loan of $375 helped to buy threads, fabric, sewing machine thread, ribbons for embroidering dresses, blouses, and huipiles.

Catalina's story

Catalina has been selling crafts for 20 years. She likes her works very much because it supports her. She is 48 years old, and her husband has left her, but that gives her more strength to face life. She has four children; two have died and two women remain, Ofelia Catalina who is 30 years old and Luz who is 28 years old.

Catalina is very happy with the loan because thanks to it she can continue doing what she likes which is embroidery. She has asked for a loan to buy more fabric, different colored thread, white silk thread, and sewing machine thread.

One of her dreams is to continue working and have a local shop to display her very beautiful huipiles (traditional embroidered dress), coats, and blouses. If she would like to have another business it will be to sell baby clothes because that is what she likes to embroider the most. She thanks the foundation for the support that it has given her to continue working and reach her dreams.
