A loan of $700 helped to purchase, chicks, feed, and vaccines for raising chickens.

Ana's story

Ana was born in the city of Matola, Maputo province, in southern Mozambique. She is married and has 3 children, 2 of whom attend school. She attended school through the third grade but did not continue because her parents did not have the money. She owns the home where she lives with her family and she does not support anyone else.

For over 15 years she has been a merchant. She sells live chickens in Mozambique and in the Republic of South Africa. She earns 20.000.00mt per month which she uses for household expenses and savings in her bank account (BIM).

She has never had a loan in other banks. She learned about Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client. This is her first loan with Hluvuku, in the amount of 18.000.00mt, which she will use to purchase chicks, feed, and vaccines to increase her flock and increase her earnings.

She promises to pay on time. In the future she plans to expand her coops and quantity of chickens. She plans to request more loans from Hluvuku for that purpose.
