A loan of $300 helped a member to buy sauce condiments, rice and supplies for making yoghurt and refreshments.

Afeped (Missebo 2) Group's story

The group AFEPED (MISSEBO 2) is composed of two persons who live in the same district. The group's representative, named Blandine Léonie, is the one in the photo with her hand raised. This is the second time this group has requested financial aid from ALIDé with the aim of boosting their business. Blandine Léonie is 59 years old and a widow. She has four children. Two of the children still remain in her care, and certain ones are in school. She lives alone with the children she supports. Blandine Léonie has attended middle school. To cope with her needs and those of her children, she has been making and selling food (rice) at a school in her area for about thirty years. Along with this work, she sells supplies for making yoghurt and bissaps (for example, beverages made from hibiscus flowers). Concerned about bolstering her business further and responding better to the requirements of her customers, she would like to expand. To do so, she and the other member of the group AFEPED (MISSEBO 2) are requesting a second loan from ALIDé. The first loan has indeed been repaid.
