A loan of $1,625 helped a member to buy candy, cookies, soft drinks, cigarettes and more.

San Jose 2 Group's story

The San José 2 committee was formed when several neighbors from the city of Santaní got together. The members are a very close group who carry out activities that strengthen their friendship. Their main objective is for each one of the members to develop in every way possible. By working together, they want to be able to help each member’s family.

One of the members is Señora Liz who has a fast food counter. This supports not just her, but also her family. She starts work very early in the morning but says that her work is very rewarding. As far as her customers are concerned, she says that she has regular clientele and this is like having a steady income.

She is applying for the loan to buy candy, cookies, soft drinks, cigarettes and other things to stock her small restaurant, as these are the most popular items.
