A loan of $850 helped to buy dairy products and basic needs products.

Erlinda's story

Erlinda, age 53, is a single mother. She has five children between the ages of 13 and 22. Three of her children are currently in school. She lives in a rural village in the Santa Rita Yoro municipality.

Erlinda works full time in her business, a grocery store. She buys and sells dairy products, basic grains, and meat. She started her business with a loan for four thousand (4,000) lempiras, and she bought chicken. She has currently managed to increase the number of products that she offers for sale.

She has now received her seventh loan with ODEF, and it is for 16,000 lempiras. She will use the loan to buy dairy products and basic needs products.

She is pleased because ODEF trusts her by offering her financial opportunities.

Her goal for the future is to improve her household’s financial situation and to continue supporting her children’s education.
