A loan of $200 helped to purchase a stock of general items.

Beatrice Musabi's story

Beatrice, a 43-year-old married woman, has four children ranging in age from 5 to 18 years. Describing herself as visionary, for the past three years she has been operating a retail shop located in a shopping centre selling food items, detergents, utensils and other general items. She describes her biggest business challenges as inflation and a poor transportation network.

Beatrice will use the Kes 20,000 loan to purchase more food items, detergents and utensils. Her goal is to grow her business into a wholesale enterprise within five years, and she hopes to eventually purchase a plot of land upon which to build rental units.
