Orfa Lucia's story

Orfa is 45 years old and lives in the city of Bogotá, the beautiful capital of Colombia, with her husband and two children, aged 8. She has a business there designing and making household items. She started the business 6 years ago, taking advantage of the fact that her husband has taken a technical course and he taught her how to do art. She generates income with it now and is still developing her creativity. She decorates sheets of styrofoam to decorate parties, stores, schools and pre-schools as her main customers. At present, she is using her Kiva loan, her first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With it, she will buy materials such as paints, glitter, and sheets of styrofoam. With these she will make decorations for Halloween, first communions, baptisms and theme parties for catering halls she works with. Her dream is to expand her business and have show place for her products to be more attractive to her customers and gain a bigger market share every day.
