Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone is very pleased to present to you members of the “Dry Fish Sellers” group. These are small scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to seek a loan of 600,000 SLL per member in order to invest in their businesses. This will be the second loan from SMT/Kiva lenders to benefit this group of entrepreneurs.

Fatmata is the leader of this group. She is 36 years old and married, with 3 children who attend primary school. Fatmata sells dried fish and has been a businesswoman for many years. With the help of this loan, Fatmata will invest in her business by buying about 5 baskets full of fish to add to her current stock.
