Gulnar's Group's story

Gulnar is the leader of this group. She is 49 and married to a cattle breeder. Together with her husband she has three sons and four daughters. The youngest son is eight (he goes to school) and the youngest daughter is just three years old. In order to earn money for their livelihood the family cultivates agricultural products.

Gulnar sells apples, pears, potatoes and wheat. The price for apples and pears is 15 soms per kilogram and a kilo of potatoes costs 5 soms. Her monthly profit from this activity is about 5000 soms. With money received from the loan she plans to purchase wheat seeds to grow more wheat. In the near future she wants to finish their house construction.
