The communal bank "Onondivepa" is made up of a group of neighbors from the city of Santani. The members have formed a very united group that is capable of jointly carrying out activities that strengthen their camaraderie. At present the group has 10 women who work in an environment of cooperation and mutual assistance in order to achieve their goals.

Angelina has a business raising animals to later sell. She tells us that this work takes a lot of sacrifice, since she has to always be aware of her animals, seeing to it that they are in good condition and free of disease. Through this work, she manages to support her family and cover her daily expenses.

She requests a loan to buy animals, and to also buy food for them. She is grateful to the Fundación Paraguaya for providing her with this opportunity.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
