A loan of $925 helped to buy more articles of clothing for her business.

Nelly's story

Nelly is 29, and lives with her partner Jose, who is 30. They have a son. They live together in their own house, located in Sivia district. Nelly sells clothing, and has been doing this for three years.

In the beginning, she sold on the street, on a small counter covered with plastic, with a few articles of clothing on top. Sometimes she would walk around the various streets selling. As time went by, she gradually saved money; working capital that she used to buy more articles of clothing.

Currently she has a small shop where she sells her merchandise, but always goes to sell at the markets where people come from distant communities. She is happy to have succeeded in developing her business, as now it generates profits. Her husband, who is a mechanic, works with her. That way, he makes a greater contribution to the household.

In the future she wishes to run her business better. This will be her first loan with MFP, so she promises to pay her instalments on time. With the 2,500 soles, she will buy more articles of clothing in the city of Lima.
