Marybel's story

Marybel is 20 years old. She is a single mother with one son, with whom she lives in a rented home in Pichari district. Marybel is an enterprising young woman, who has always had desires of having her own business. In order to achieve this, she has put all her efforts into the goal of one day making this a reality. She tells us that she bit by bit she put together some capital, and with this small amount of capital she invested in a store selling agro-chemical products. She saw that many of her neighbors complained about insect infestations and worms ruining their crops, and that there wasn't a store of this kind nearby. Setting up this business has gone well, however she hasn't been able to stock up to meet the large demand as she doesn't have sufficient capital. Still, she is happy about her business because it generates financial income for her, thanks to which she has been able to provide good nourishment for her young 8-month old son. In the near future, she wants to stock up her store and if possible become a wholesaler. This will be her first loan with MFP, and she commits to making her repayments punctually. With the 3,000 soles, she will buy more products for sale at her agro-chemical store.
