A loan of $575 helped to purchase fifteen bags of different-colored yarn.

Amelia's story

Amelia is a member of the Communal Bank "Santa Barbara" of the District and Province of Yunguyo in the Department of Puno. She is 28 years old, married, and has a son. Her highest level of education is secondary school.

Amelia has been working with the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for the past two years. Her first loan was for 500.00 Soles; money that she invested in the business of selling knitwear, such as sweaters of all sizes and combinations.

With this new loan of 1,500.00 Soles, she plans to invest it in the purchase of materials such as fifteen bags of different-colored yarn to make different pieces of clothing. She works alongside her husband and they sell their articles of clothing in the locality of Juliaca.

Amelia hopes to have more capital to purchase more materials and produce more items and own a home in another area. She likes the communal bank, the punctuality of the payments, the savings, and the earnings.
