A loan of $375 helped to buy fertilizers to improve his land and crops, and to buy nutritionally-balanced feed for his sheep.

Baltazar's story

68-year-old Baltazar is a widower. He lives in his own home which doesn't receive basic services. It is located in a rural area of Tambogrande district, in Piura department. The people in this area farm, raise livestock and make handicrafts.

Baltazar is a farmer. He owns his own farmland where he grows lemons and mangos, which he sells every day. Once he has harvested his fruit, he sells it in the different markets in Piura. In this way, he is able to make income with which to cover his personal expenses. He also sells sheep which makes him extra income for his household.

Baltazar has requested a loan for 1,000 soles from Edpyme Alternativa to buy fertilizers with which to improve his land and crops, and also nutritionally-balanced feed for his sheep. Once he has fattened his sheep, he sells them in the different markets in his area and obtains a better price for them. This makes him more income and enables him to improve his quality of life. Baltazar is a hard-working and very responsible person and the only thing he wants is for his business to grow so that he can enjoy more comforts and conveniences.
